Just did an oil change to my 2016 Jaguar XF and I'm just finding out about the top way to pull out the oil. Wished I knew this beforehand 😅😅😅

All the cars you buy are priced right but for precision vehicles they seem to be very touchie and cheaply made. At their showroom best, after seeing your videos, at least for me there is not very much to these cars. That being said, you do alright with them for buying them "as is." Keep it up.

I don't know if i would attempt this on an engine like this, but an old school mechanic from my area told me that back in the 70s and 80s they would use kerosene heating fuel or off road diesel fuel as a motor flush. He said they would just dump in about a half gallon right on top of old oil, if it was overfull was not a major concern as this was only in the engine for a few min, but they would run the engine and rev it a few times for about 10-15 min before draining out everything. they would then add another half gallon of fuel and run it again, again fill level which would be low at this point was not a concern, another 10 min or so. drain it again, then fill it up with fresh oil and filter. He said that this would wash out a large majority of sludge buildup and help clear any of the really small oil passages, but like any of the off the shelf solutions was only a band-aid for an obviously bigger problem. When I asked about any negative side effects of the fuel in the crank case he told me that there is a small chance that it could cause excessive wear on things like bearings or rockers, basically any moving part, but that for such a short running time it was unlikely. he also cautioned against doing a motor flush of any kind, either with fuel or with a store bought additive too often, and that he personally would never repeat the process on back-to-back oil changes unless the engine still had a very excessive build-up.

I have been using Liqui Moly Ceratec on a Mercedes C350 and a BMW X3. The Mercedes has almost 200K on it right now, things are still running smooth and shiny inside. The BMW got a liter of Ceratec within a week of purchase and it is coming up on its first 10K mile service (yea, I think 10K is too long, once this first one is done I am going to do the alternating 5K's by myself)

Flush yes....friction additives, pointless versus the proper spec oil...total bunkum if using proper oil. And some can clog or narrow fine oil pathways.

The idea of pumping engine oil out is flawed. The reason for draining engine oil is to increase the likelihood of extracting any heavy particles that might have congregated in the engine. Gravity performs this task better than a pump. Making jobs easier should never be the primary reason for any new technology. Also, too many ads. The first 3 plus minutes was waffle and ads. But you did more later. Boring. There are better ways to impart useful information.

I Have A 22 Lexus LS400 That I Use As A Daily Driver. I'm Shocked At How Poor The Overall Reliability Of Other Luxury Brand's Are! In 22 Years, I've Changed The Breaks Twice, Tires 3 Time's, Timing Belt Twice, Starter Once, And Radiator Once Because I Broke A Piece On It While Changing A Headlight Bulb. Other Than That, My Car Is Still Smooth, Quiet And Reliable As Hell, In Comparison To Cars Like This!

Should've replaced that outlet pipe assembly and the rear crossover pipe while you were in there. Very common to leak coolant. Also saw you taking the symposer bracket off... you can pull the symposer out with the charger with just two plugs being released. No need to fight the three t30s off the back.

I have the car that you said to get instead of the R model. Mine is the XF Supercharged from 2010. I bought it from a dealer in 2019 with 36k on the odometer and it was in flawless stock condition. I've put 10k miles on it since owning it and done nothing to it other than oil changes. I got it for 20k (sold for 90k new) and it has every option but the adaptive cruise control. I think I got a phenomenal deal and if someone walked up to me and said what would I sell it for, I'd say 18k.

Jesus christ we went through two sets of tires, trashed a set of front rims, it burned oil, my dad drove the snot out of his XFR! he always hated Saskatchewan, cause the speed limit was slower then Alberta and the rest of canada. My dad drove as fast as he could across Saskatchewan, like we were going from Brandon, MB, to edmonton, AB, and then on to Vancouver, BC. He did between 280-320km/hr clean across Manitoba, Saskatchewan and alberta, we only slowed down once we hit Roger's pass! A jaguar XFR is the best road trip car we ever had! I mean we could have died, sure, but the whole family was loving it Haha! Now that I'm an adult I want an XFR, a 2010, black on black, tinted out with chrome trim and rims, just like his. I absolutely loved that car, so many good memories in that old XFR!

My dad owned one of these, a 2010, which didnt have a speed limiter so it did well past 300km/hr. That was actually the first car I went 300 in lol. Beautiful car, comfy for all 4 of us, and dad and I always used to go out at night and race mustang's and corvettes and shit! It was fun!

I have used friction reducers for over 30 years in numerous cars and motorbikes from the old Slick 50 (not in the bikes) to X1R and ZX1 for about the last 10. Never had any problems with any of them, sometimes cars taken to well over 100k and all appear to work. I have had 2 instances of unrelated failures resulting in the engines running with a loss of oil pressure where I would have expected the engines to be trashed. In both, after sorting the oil pressure, the engines ran afterwards for many miles and one had chain driven cams which didn't fail or make undue noise afterwards. One car we still have is a 2008 Saab 9 5 aero which we bought at 5000 miles and still have it at 120k and it has just passed it's annual MOT. It has always had zero CO and hydrocarbon emmisions and it still does now at 120k. Main noticeable changes before and after for all the above treatments are reduced noise levels (maybe not so noticeable on a modern V8 as it should be pretty quiet from inside the car already), almost a complete loss of engine braking and on turbo engines they appear to spin up quicker resulting in less lag.

You can always see if the knock is engine or SC couller by removing the supercharger belt and start it up. I ordered a long block 3800 for a grandprix gtp. Then found out it was a dirt cheap coupler.

I add hexagonal boron nitride and tungsten disulfide (tablespoon and 1/2 teaspoon respectively) to all my engines now and it smooths them out significantly. Idle revs are lower, they have more power and are less burdened, and get better mileage. The smallest grade powders also reduce wear by 55% or so depending on concentration by weight.

I use Slick 50 in my cars but I don't think its as good as it once was. I just got a couple of cases of the Swiss made Ceracoat engine treatment cheap so I'm going to give that a go. Apart from those I use Lucas products in older engines and transmissions and Nulon Teflon treatments in diffs and manual gearboxes.

I love motorkote!!!! I also have a Honda prelude that I used 2 kinds of engine flush on and it cleaned it really well had so much sludge in the engine. Motorkote I use it in transmission and engine and power steering. I love it, it's made a difference in a PT cruiser I had big time.

Going to a funeral, everyone met up then departed in together to the funeral, my brother and I locked up the house and were the last to leave in his Jag. And nada. Wouldn't pop up. Everyone else had left. Had to call his Mother-in-law to give us a lift. Dealer said it's a very rare problem, fixed with a software update which took 3 weeks to arrive. And then failed again less than a month later. He didn't keep it long after that.

7:07 i was fixing my supercharger on my Jaguar too when I noticed that I have a missing piece on my engine. I don’t have the log on top of my engine block dose any body know were I can get this pice (doesn’t matter if it’s after market)

I have used engine flush, some work better than others. The ones that seem to work the fresh oil seems to stay clean looking for longer
