My friend Zach has always been a huge help when it comes to my salvage projects. When he saw found the Turbo Beetle he always wanted, I decided I'd surprise him with it. Had to stop watching couldn't bare seeing unnecessary damage being done to the car. Future reference Sam, when you pull the cable you should be pushing down on the hood that would make for an easy release of the latch by offering less resistance as opposed to pulling the hood up, capeash

As soon as you opened the engine I knew it wasn’t going to run and then the cam code confirmed it. These engines at least the earlier ones had a tensioner issue where it would fail and loose timing although I don’t know if it was the issue with this one but Definitely something to keep an eye on with these engines along with the rear main which may leak. All in all hope your buddy has good luck with this beautiful car and I look forward to seeing it on the road again.

you can do online salvage yard searches and a lot of the time they will list the color of the car/part. pretty sure thats what tavarish used to do when he was still flipping beaters in NYC

Way to go Sam. Sam I have to say if I ever need someone to pick me up a car from the auction. It won’t be you lol you have hands down the worst luck picking out cars from auction. I watch dozens of other UZhousers Buying cars from the auction and none of them even come close to your bad luck. Well maybe the good dead you did helping Zach out will change your luck.

did you check for a broken timing belt? many pistons are designed with valve inlays to achieve higher compression ratios and prevent valve damage in the case of a timing belt failure..

you push up and down on the hood while someone pulls the handle works well sometimes that whole front end comes off super easy .except for 2 hidden little bolts in the headlight bezel ..you will meet them

Thats so awesome. I do love carly on my e46. I have done so much coding and repgraming with it, it has really saved me a lot of money. The diagnostic portion is good but I get a lot of fault codes that false, but then again it is pretty heavily modified so that might be the reason.

thats amazing.....I have autism and saved up and bought a 2006 volvo non-turbo v70...spent 2-3k on timing belt and other maint. stuff...but now it needs some suspension love hopefully it wont cost me too much, havent been able to work regularly since march and I'm dying to drive anything at this point
