I'd take the rad hoses off and see how well you can pump water through the entire system with out the thermostat spring installed and see if there is a blockage somewhere.

It is designed to be dependent on the manufacturer. They learned their lessons from classics of old that are able to be resurrected with little to no parts = no profit made by the manufacturer. ALL supercars and hyper cars are designed to be dependent on the manufacturer (unlike old designs able to be opened, refurbished and restored without special tools and without proprietary parts).

Head gasket is likely popped. I work on these and had one like it. Replaced half of the cooling system. Compression and leak down ok, but once it got to that magic temp it would vent out. All caused by a coolant leak another shop couldn't fix.

I raced a tuned one of these on the freeway in my 475 wheel hp Camaro and he was right there only at 110 did I start to pull away.

If the coolant is bubbling like that in the header and the temp rockets up the problem is between the block and the water jacket obviously. Forget these shitty modern cars and get something that wasn't made to wean folk off of bigger engines.

Thermostat, waterpump, pinhole in radiator or pipe.. Or cylinder over heated and water is leaking from water jackets around cylinder. Which you can test by accelerating car and seeing air bubbles or splashing when looking threw radiator when cap is off.. Edit those eggs blocked the radiator😂

Talk about possible sabotage. My Porsche Panamera Turbo started to overheat due to a simple coolant leak from rear of engine from a hose or something. Other than that, there was no other engine problems and it was running fine when I put it in the shop. I would have fixed it myself but I couldn't reach it and it also required removing the intake manifold just to get to the thermostat. So I put it in the shop at the Porsche dealer. A month later they told me they got it fixed but were just waiting on a few O-rings to arrive from Germany to put it back together. The next month they said they had to remove the entire transmission just to get to a screw. They said it would be no charge for that so I was relieved. The next month they said that they were were slowly putting it back together and it should be ready by Friday. That was almost 3 weeks ago. I still haven't heard form them. Then never call. Ive only called them once a month for the last 3 months for what was supposed to be a simple coolant leak repair. I'm starting to think they done screwed up my engine and when they finally give up trying to patch it up, they will try to figure a way out of it and blame me for something they've done and leave me with a ruined car. They gave me a brand new loaner Porsche to use during the repairs months ago and is not even concerned about getting it back after 90 days. I would have done a suprise visit but the dealer is two cities away and they're just gonna say the something they say on the phone..like it'll be ready by next week.

Same thermostat housing as e46, these cooling systems are garbage, as soon as you fix one part sometimes else will go. If I were you I'd swap EVERYTHING out on the coolant system...then go from there.

That radiator was already structurally compromised from overheating several times. A small hand pump isn’t enough to damage a healthy radiator. Also, I am very surprised they didn’t take temp readings at the coolant hoses when engine was at temperature.
